Children are programmed for individually and their interests and specific needs are incorporated into the educational program. Each child also has their own individual portfolio of photos, completed work and planned experiences specific to their needs and interests. Our indoor environments support interest and exploration based learning through the establishment of interest areas and small learning exploration stations.
Jack & Jill Preschool has a state of the art playground that has been installed and designed by a professional landscaper that specialises in developing children’s playgrounds. We are constantly upgrading to meet the needs of an ever-evolving community.
Our outdoor environment has many natural elements including plants, rocks, sand and bark fostering explorative play. There are a range of medium sized trees that provide interest and shade and a grassed area for ball games, including an interactive musical elements that the children love.
We have introduced an environmental theme within our playground with a rainwater tank and encourage the children to care for and enjoy the outdoors in a resourceful and natural way. Each of our classrooms have a worm farm and the children recycle their food scraps to support the worm farm life cycle. Another of our service improvements were to install café blinds to the play area outside the Kookaburra Room, to provide the classes with an outdoor space even on the coldest of Lithgow days. The Preschool is set in a lovely quiet area, so come on out and see for yourself, meet our friendly staff and have a talk to the many parents who have entrusted their children to our care.
